Volunteers are the foundation of Saskatchewan’s lottery-funded sport, culture and recreation system with more than 330,000 individuals donating their time, skills and knowledge in a multitude of roles. Many of these individuals work behind the scenes to ensure that participants are treated to an incredible experience, no matter what the event may be.
In March, Saskatchewan will host two national sport events, the Brier in Regina from March 1-10 and the U SPORTS women’s national hockey championship in Saskatoon from March 14-17. Between the two events, hundreds of volunteers will be needed in a variety of capacities from team liaisons to ticket checkers, security to ushers and so much more.
Sask Lotteries is proud to support both the Brier and the U SPORTS women’s national hockey championship as the volunteer sponsor and we would like to thank all those volunteers who are helping to make the events successful. Without volunteers, sport, culture and recreation events and activities wouldn’t happen.
Brier volunteers in place and ready to go
From coast to coast to coast, 18 of Canada’s top men’s curling teams will descend on the Brandt Centre in Regina for ten days of curling.
Multiple draws will be held each day of the event starting March 1, culminating in the final on March 10.
Follow along during the event at curling.ca/2024brier/ and head to the event on March 3 to paint the house green for Saskatchewan Sunda!
Still time to get involved as volunteer for the U SPORTS national hockey championship
For the first time ever, Saskatoon will play host to the best women’s university hockey players in the country.
The hometown University of Saskatchewan Huskies will be playing in the tournament, which will include seven other teams from across Canada.
The event itself will run from March 14-17 at Merlis Belsher Place, however, volunteers will be needed for a range of duties March 13-18. Individuals can sign up for the entire event or for specific days.
No matter the position, volunteers will help support meaningful experiences and opportunities for both student-athletes and fans.
