I can’t take my money with me, so I’ll help some people out!
Elaine Lumberjack was enjoying a coffee with her niece when the topic of a $100,000 EXTRA win in Saskatchewan came up.
“My niece told me someone had won, so I checked my tickets,” she said. “I checked this one and thought I’d won $10 – I can’t see very well – I checked again and thought it was $100.”
“[When I realized] I was the big winner, I screamed out: ‘Woohoo!’” she laughed. “I actually screamed it.”
Lumberjack said she had a hard time convincing her family she was the winner.
“No one believed me because I’m going blind,” the winner laughed. “So, everyone came over and I passed the ticket around so they could see it for themselves.”
The Tisdale winner said she plans to share her windfall with her family.
“I’m an old woman,” she laughed. “I can’t take my money with me, so I’ll help some people out!”
Lumberjack picked up her winning ticket in Melfort at the Prairie North Co-op Ltd at 408 Saskatchewan Ave. E. She won her $100,000 EXTRA prize by matching the last six digits of the September 7 draw – 6246726.
