I am almost at retirement, so I’m going to retire happy!
James Oliver won $285,447.40 on LOTTO MAX in the September 13 draw—and found out about it while in the bathtub!
“I gave my wife the ticket to scan while I was in the tub,” he said. “All of a sudden, I heard screaming and yelled out to see if she was okay!”
“It feels great,” he added. “I’m going to enjoy it and look after my wife!”
Oliver said he and his wife are long-time fans of the game as well.
“My wife likes to play, and we like that [LOTTO MAX] is easy,” he explained. “You don’t need to track the numbers, you don’t have to mark anything down, and having the $24 packs makes it a lot easier to play!”
The Moose Jaw local said he is planning to buy a condo and put the majority in savings.
“I just want to put my wife and myself first for a change,” the winner said. “I’ve been working since I was 15, caring for everyone else; now it’s our turn.”
“I am almost at retirement, so I’m going to retire happy.”
Oliver purchased his winning LOTTO MAX ticket at the Saskatoon Co-op Gas Bar and Convenience Store located at 900 Saskatchewan St. in Rosthern. He split the game’s second-largest prize with an Ontario winner, matching six out of seven numbers, plus the Bonus selected on the September 13 LOTTO MAX draw: 9 ,12, 13, 15, 29, 30 and 41, and the Bonus 47.
