It feels great to share this with coworkers and have this experience together!
Edenwold local Marilyn Lolacher has won $333,353.40 on LOTTO MAX, along with her coworkers Natalie Thompson from Air Ronge, Anette Maxeiner from Pense, and Regina locals Carole Fletcher, Garth Churney, Jennifer Landry, Stephen Luzney, Patti Walker, Janeen Holt, Kyle Schutz, Rachel Alabi, and Bram Nelissen.
“I was notified by my son’s girlfriend,” Lolacher said. “She heard about the win on a radio station and said, ‘Was this you?’ It prompted me to check [my ticket]!”
Lolacher saw the group had won on LOTTO MAX’s August 20 draw and was in complete shock.
“I double checked the ticket, started shaking and then started calling everyone into a meeting room to let them know!” she said. “I told Kyle first, and we both double-checked the ticket.”
“We had to make a few calls as well because one group member is retired and a few live elsewhere!”
If spread evenly among all 12 winners, the prize for each amounts to $27,779.45.
“The consensus from everyone is to primarily spend this on bills,” Lolacher admitted. “But we’re also thinking of taking trips in the near future. Some college funds for our kids and nest eggs for retirement.”
“When we started telling people, all we heard was, ‘Wow! Unbelievable! What are the odds! This feels surreal!’” Lolacher chuckled.
“It feels great to share this with coworkers and have this experience together,” he added.
Lolacher purchased the winning LOTTO MAX and EXTRA ticket on behalf of the group from Sherwood Co-op located at 2925 Quance St. in Regina. They won one of the 44 MAXMILLIONS prizes offered on August 20, split with winners in Ontario and Calgary, by correctly matching the selection: 2, 18, 19, 22, 30, 39 and 41. The group also won $20 and a Free Play on the same ticket.
